Hello and Welcome to Jerome Bouniol's website.
Jerome started photography as a teenager in France. Since then he's always been surrounded by the still image. His artistic growth was inspired by photographers such as Henri Cartier Bresson, Weegee, Robert Capa, Nathan Lerner, Diane Arbus, Willy Ronis, Brassai, Walker Evans (and many more).
Jerome, an adopted New Yorker, is drawn to documenting definitive landscapes and people of his new city. Also, interested in Humanitarian photography, he made two short trips in post earthquake Haiti to document life conditions.
Often contrasted, sometimes sarcastic, Jerome's photography maybe seen as dark, but really is optimistic.
Always seeking to evolve and improve his work, Jerome continued to study through NYC photography institutions such as Cooper Union (with Laurel Ptak) and the Internationnal Center of Photography (with Karen Marshall and Brian Young).
